Hans Franck: His life
Born on 30th July 1870 in Wittenburg / died on 11th April 1964 in Schwerin

The son of a master roofer, from 1895 to 1901 he attended the "Großherzogliche Lehrerseminar" teaching college in Neukloster and was then a teacher in Hamburg for ten years. From 1914 to 1920, he was a dramatist at the Dusseldorf theatre, head of the "Theatre Academy" / "Educational etablishment for dramatic arts", which was affiliated with the theatre, and editor of the theatre newspaper "Masken".

From 1921 to 1964, Hans Franck lived at Frankenhorst on the Ziegelsee Lake in the Schwerin district as a freelance writer.

During his varied and extensive career as a writer, he produced successful works including the play "Godiva" (1920), the short novels "Die Südseeinsel" (1923) and "Die Pilgerfahrt nach Lübeck" (1935) as well as the biographical novels "Annette" (1937), "Marianne" (1953) and "Johann Sebastian Bach" (1960).
